All databases are available in every branch of the Birmingham Public Library, unless otherwise noted. A JCLC library card can be used to access many of the databases, however licensing restrictions force us to limit access to certain databases to residents of Birmingham.

Career Cruising is a self-exploration and planning program that helps people of all ages achieve their potential in school, career and life. The program enables patrons to complete personal assessments, explore career and school options, and build a portfolio of their interests, experiences, and skills. The result is a customized plan aligned to the user’s inputs, and reflective of their unique personality and attributes. With a robust career and school database, financial aid information, an embedded resume builder, and age appropriate exploratory activities, CareerCruising can be used by students for their post-secondary planning, or by job seekers to discover best-suited career options. The program is secure, requiring a username and password to access. It is suitable for all ages (Audience: Middle School/High School/Adults)
