All databases are available in every branch of the Birmingham Public Library, unless otherwise noted. A JCLC library card can be used to access many of the databases, however licensing restrictions force us to limit access to certain databases to residents of Birmingham.

Search the Birmingham News from 1993 - today. Find full-text articles (text or image) on local news, issues, events, people and much more from current and archived issues of the Birmingham News. Updated daily, it includes obituaries, editorials, announcements, sports, real estate and other sections. In addition, there is access to "The Lede", a more detailed, online-only subscription service version of The Birmingham News. Read the paper in the original full-text PDF or find content that was only published on the web. Available from inside the library or from home. FYI. There is also a page in this database listing resource that will take you to the current online version of The Birmingham news – al.com.
