Call To Order
- The January 4, 2023, board meeting was called to order by Willie S. Davis III at 4:36 p.m.
- Lynn Flowers-Martin provided the Invocation.
Choice Neighborhood Initiative Grant
Mr. Cory Stallworth with City of Birmingham answered questions presented by the board regarding the Choice Neighborhood Initiative Grant. A brief discussion followed as regards to what the next steps would be if the grant is approved.
- Jermaine Johnson motioned to agree to partner with the City of Birmingham and the Housing Authority on the Smithfield Choice Neighborhood Initiative Grant project and will provide a letter of support.
- R. Jordan Davis seconded the motion.
- Board members responded unanimously in favor to approve the motion.
- Jermaine Johnson confirmed the motion carried.
Other Business
Executive Director Janine Langston reminded board members of the unveiling of the new BPL bookmobile which will take place in the parking lot of Birmingham Public Library on Tuesday, January 10th at 3:30pm, prior to the board meeting.Jermaine Johnson updated board members on various fundraising ideas he has been working on.
