Birmingham Public Library - Library Card Application

To register as an Adult you will need:

A photograph of a government-issued photo ID.
If your photo ID doesn't contain your current address, include a photograph of a bill/mail with your name and address.

To register for a Minor you will need:

If you are under 18, you and your parent(s) will need come into a library to get a card.

Non-Residents of Jefferson County are required to pay an annual fee of $50.00 before account will be activated.

College students living on campus within Jefferson County must include a photo ID and proof of their residency on campus. College students living off campus within Jefferson county must include a photo ID and proof of their current residence off campus. No fee is required.

1. Complete and submit the library card application

Go to Library card application

Make sure to do Step 1 before going to Step 2. We cannot complete your application without Step 1.

2. Submit ID and proof of residency.

ex: Picture of driver's license with current address, or your driver's license and a utility bill
