All databases are available in every branch of the Birmingham Public Library, unless otherwise noted. A JCLC library card can be used to access many of the databases, however licensing restrictions force us to limit access to certain databases to residents of Birmingham.

kweliTV is a Black-owned streaming platform that curates and produces global Black stories & amplifies Black creators through 800+ indie films, documentaries, shows, kids’ content as well as live & immersive experiences. kweliTV is accessible from anywhere in the world and distributed to several mobile and TV apps, platforms and libraries. 60% of our subscription revenue goes back to our 500+ diverse content creators. Recognized by PC Magazine since 2020 as one of the 10 best movie streaming services, kweliTV proudly stands as the only black, woman-owned, and independently operated platform on the list. kweliTV has been featured in CNN Business, Fast Company, Refinery 29, TIME, Emmy Magazine, Shondaland, and more. Access from inside the library is automatic. Access kweli.tv from anywhere. For access outside of library [You will need to create an account]: 1) Visit kweli.tv and click Sign In or Sign Up(top right). 2) Scroll down and click the orange tab at the bottom “Access kweliTV through your institution” 3) In the Find Your Library search bar, start typing your library’s name and select it when it appears. 4) Enter your library card number, then click Go. You’ll be automatically logged in.
