The Desert Island Supply Co. (DISCO) is a nonprofit writing center based in historic Woodrow Hall, in the heart of the Woodlawn commercial district on the east side of Birmingham, Alabama. The organization is run by passionate volunteers who believe in the power of storytelling and are dedicated to providing Birmingham students, ages 6-18, with more opportunities to strengthen their writing skills, intensify their intellectual habits, shape their own futures and positively affect their communities.
